Replacement details

  • ONE MEMBRANE, NO FILTERS - A single thin film composite reverse osmosis membrane rated at 50 GPD under standard test conditions, for systems that take MA-4203. This is the stage that reduces dissolved solids, and it is the piece most replacement sets leave out. It is a membrane only: no sediment prefilter, no carbon, no inline post-filter. If those stages are also due, the four piece filter kit covers them.
  • MATCH THE MEMBRANE TO THE RESTRICTOR - This is the step people miss. Every system runs a flow restrictor sized to its membrane, and fitting a faster membrane without changing it throws off the ratio of filtered water to drain water. Too little drain flow scales the membrane early; too much wastes water and drops your tank pressure. Replacing like for like at 50 GPD keeps the restrictor you already have correct.
  • HIGHER GPD IS FASTER, NOT CLEANER - The rating is production rate, not quality. A 100 GPD membrane fills the tank quicker than a 50, which suits a large household or a system feeding a fridge line as well as a faucet. It does not reduce more. If your system keeps up with demand at 50 GPD, replacing like for like is the simpler choice and the one that needs no other changes.
  • FEATURES: Our water filter membrane particularly offers a larger surface area and a longer life. This membrane eliminates chlorine, bad taste, and odor, and is available in a variety of sizes. This replacement membrane will provide you with high filtering performance at a lower cost.
  • PROTECT IT AND IT LASTS - Chlorine damages this membrane faster than anything else in normal household water, so the carbon stages ahead of it determine how long it lives. Keep those cartridges on schedule. Leave the membrane sealed in its bag until the day you fit it, and flush the system after fitting before you drink from it.

A single 50 GPD thin film composite reverse osmosis membrane for systems that take MA-4203.

This is the stage that reduces dissolved solids in a reverse osmosis system, and it is the piece most replacement sets leave out and sell separately. It is a membrane only - no sediment prefilter, no carbon cartridges and no inline post-filter. If those are also due, the four piece filter kit covers them.

Match the membrane to the flow restrictor. Every system runs a restrictor sized to its membrane, and fitting a faster membrane without changing it throws off the ratio of filtered water to drain water. Too little drain flow scales the membrane early; too much wastes water and drops tank pressure. Replacing like for like at 50 GPD keeps the restrictor you already have correct, which is the simplest path.

Higher GPD is faster, not cleaner. The rating is production rate, not quality. A 100 GPD membrane fills the tank quicker than a 50, but it does not reduce more. If your system keeps up with demand as it is, there is no advantage in changing rating.

Chlorine damages this membrane faster than anything else in normal household water, so the carbon stages ahead of it determine how long it lives. Keep those cartridges on schedule - a spent carbon stage is the usual reason a membrane fails early.

Leave the membrane sealed in its bag until the day you fit it, and flush the system after fitting before you drink from it. A membrane typically runs two to three years against six to twelve months for the cartridges ahead of it.
