What to expect

Replacement details

  • One carbon block cartridge, clear canister with 1/2 in NPT ports, pressure release valve, wrench & bracket.
  • WHAT IS IN THE BOX - A 10 in clear filter housing with 1/2 in NPT ports, one carbon block cartridge already sized for it, a sump wrench, mounting bracket and screws, and a pressure release valve on the cap. Everything needed to put a filter on the line and to service it a year from now.
  • PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE - The button on the cap bleeds line pressure before you open the housing. A sump still under pressure is difficult to unscrew and tends to spray when it finally lets go, so releasing first makes the cartridge change cleaner and easier on the housing threads.
  • CHECK YOUR PORT SIZE - This housing has 1/2 in NPT ports, which is the CCI-10-CLW12 and HF2-10CLWH12 size. If your plumbing runs 1/4 in, choose the 1/4 in option from the size selector on this page instead. Port size is not interchangeable and no adapter is included. Replaces CCI-10-CLW12 and HF2-10CLWH12 housings.
  • MATCH THE FILTER TO YOUR WATER - The carbon block cartridge reduces chlorine and the tastes and smells that ride with it. Service intervals depend on what is in your supply and how much water you run, so heavy chlorine or high volume typically means changing sooner. Watch the pressure at your taps rather than the calendar. Replacement cartridges are sold separately in 1, 2 and 4 packs.

This is a complete clear filter housing kit in the 1/2 in NPT port size, supplied with one carbon block cartridge fitted inside it. The kit covers both the install and the first year of service: a 10 in clear housing so you can see the cartridge without opening anything, a sump wrench, a mounting bracket and screws, and a pressure release valve built into the cap. That valve is worth knowing about. A housing still holding line pressure is hard to unscrew and has a habit of spraying when it finally gives, so bleeding it first makes a cartridge change cleaner and puts less strain on the threads. The carbon block cartridge reduces chlorine along with the tastes and smells that come with it. Port size is the thing to check before ordering. This housing takes 1/2 in NPT, which is the CCI-10-CLW12 and HF2-10CLWH12 size. A 1/4 in version is available from the size selector on this page. The two are not interchangeable and no adapter is included, so measure or check your existing fitting rather than guessing. How long the cartridge lasts depends on your water and your household. Heavier chlorine or higher volume means changing sooner. Falling pressure at the taps is a better signal than the calendar. Replacement cartridges are sold separately in 1, 2 and 4 packs. Complete Filtration Services has built and supplied replacement filtration since 2006.
