Replacement details
- TEN INCH INLINE CARBON CARTRIDGE, THREADED PORTS - A sealed inline filter with 1/4 in female threaded ports at both ends, for lines that use threaded fittings rather than push-fit. The whole cartridge is replaced as a unit; there is nothing to open or refill.
- THE FINAL STAGE ON AN RO SYSTEM - On a five stage reverse osmosis system this is the polishing filter, sitting after the membrane and the storage tank. Water can pick up a flat taste sitting in a tank; the carbon takes that off on the way to the faucet, which is why the last stage exists at all.
- ALSO WORKS AS A FRIDGE OR ICE MAKER FILTER - The same cartridge fits in the line feeding a refrigerator, ice maker or drinking water faucet, where it reduces chlorine along with the tastes and smells that ride with it. In that position it is the only carbon stage rather than the last of several.
- CHOOSE THE FITTING THAT MATCHES YOUR LINE - This version has 1/4 in female threaded ports. If your line uses push-fit tubing, choose the quick connect option instead; the two are not interchangeable without adapters. Covers T33, WHKF-IMTO, WHCF-IMTO, IMTO, WICA, GXRTDR, GXITQ, IF-100 and RFC-1 positions.
- MATCH THE FILTER TO YOUR WATER - How long it lasts depends on your chlorine level and how much water the household runs. On an RO system the post-filter is usually changed with the prefilters. A return of taste at the faucet, or in the ice, is the signal rather than a date on the calendar.
A ten inch inline carbon cartridge with 1/4 in female threaded ports at both ends, for lines that use threaded fittings rather than push-fit tubing. The whole cartridge is replaced as a unit; there is nothing to open and nothing to refill. It has two common jobs. On a five stage reverse osmosis system it is the polishing filter, the last stage, sitting downstream of the membrane and the storage tank. Water that has been sitting in a tank can pick up a flat taste, and the carbon takes that off on its way to the faucet. That is the entire reason a fifth stage exists on a system that has already done its filtration further upstream. The same cartridge also fits in the line feeding a refrigerator, ice maker or drinking water faucet. In that position it is not polishing anything; it is the only carbon stage, reducing chlorine along with the tastes and smells that come with it before the water reaches the ice tray. Choose the fitting that matches your line. This version has 1/4 in female threaded ports; if your line runs push-fit tubing, the quick connect version is the one you want, and the two do not interchange without adapters. It covers the T33, WHKF-IMTO, WHCF-IMTO, IMTO, WICA, GXRTDR, GXRTQR, GXITQ, GXITD, IF-100, DW-2540CB and RFC-1 positions. The body is ten inches long, which is worth measuring against the space you have under the sink or behind the appliance. How long it lasts depends on your water and your household. On an RO system most people change the post-filter along with the prefilters. A return of taste at the faucet, or in the ice, is the signal rather than a date on the calendar. Complete Filtration Services has built and supplied replacement filtration since 2006.
